From Argentina
« Gepost op: 17 oktober 2019, 00:14:17 »
Hello guys. I introduce myself. My name is Emanuel. I have a 156 2.4 with 136HP. And looking for information to increase the power of the engine I came to this fabulous forum, which from what I see, is very very interesting.
At the moment my car is original, except for a small modification in the optics, but the rest is preserved as is. As I said before, I am looking for information to increase the power, to about 220 / 230HP. For that, I know it will require a great modification but I think that the car and the love for mechanics and the cars I have, would give me great satisfaction.
Regards!!

Hello Emanuel, we like to welcome you on the forum.

It is possible to tune up the 2.4 JTD engine to about 200 HP but, as you say, it needs a lot of modification.

There is a member here (JS JTD) and he has a lot of experiance with tuning this type of engine.
He is also the owner of the banner on top of this page JTD Performance).
His 1.9 JTDm has more then 300HP  Applaus

I don't know if Joel speaks a bit english but in case he doesn't we will translate for you.

With the 1.9JTDm from 100 - 200 km/h in 11 seconds??????   Click

Thank you very much for the good reception. The truth is that I am very excited to boost the engine, because I think the 156 is a beautiful car, and the engine it brings is a diamond in the rough. I think it is very limited at the factory. So for that, I really want to give you a good dose of steroids, and make it look very muscular.
Could you guide me in which sub forum should I make the thread?
The nickname of red tractor, is red by the color and because it has an engine that really is a tractor, with a lot of torque, and above it is a diesel, jajaja.

Thank you very much to all. Regards.

I know you don't want to hear this but just buy another red tractor with 20 valves and you only need to remap to achieve 210/220 horsepower. The 10v engine with just 136 hp isn't worth it in my opinion.

Yes, if it were that easy I would have already done it, because I love that motor, but the truth is that in my country, there is only 1, if only 1 2.4 20V motor and it is a 159 SW. That it was from the wife of the president of FIAT in my country. In total I do not know if we will reach 50 cars of the 156 model, and of those there are, with 2.4 engine, I do not think we reach 10. Another thing, is that, you can not import a used engine, and a new one costs the value of the whole car .. But well, all that will not make me stop to have the satisfaction that my tractor is at 230hp and devour the roads
